“Farbrengen and Continuity Campaign.”
A fundraiser with a difference
Tuesday, 13 August Bina held a unique fundraising event called “Farbrengen and Continuity Campaign.”
Held in a packed John Saunders Hall at Central synagogue the format of the evening was structured so that it would not just raise funds but be an evening of spiritual stimulation and inspiration.
The entertainment was provided by Chazan Yehuda Niasoff (singing and on the Key board) and Sam Podjarski on the violin. They played and sang ancient Hasidic melodies while Rabbis Gourarie and Chaiton inspired and uplifted the audience with stories, historic insights and Kabbalistic ideas about the journey of the soul, Jewish identity and the critical importance of Jewish learning. Dr David Leinkram and Robyn Gerber spoke about the invaluable contribution that Bina has made to the Sydney Jewish community which was supported by a new short promotional video about Bina and its programs. After the inspiration Rabbi Gourarie made the appeal which was well received with a fantastic response.
Everyone agreed that the program together with delicious refreshments and Lechaim made in night to remember.
