R.E.L.A.T.E. Part 1 - PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

R.E.L.A.T.E. Part 1 - PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

Respect is not just an attitude - it is a practice, and one that needs training.
Respecting the differences in the other person and making room in our reality for their world, might not be our natural default position. We aren't necessarily born with the ability to fully respect others. It is a mindset that needs to be learned and practiced.

Young children are often self-centred and egocentric. For a child the world revolves around him/her.  This is by design. It is the way they become aware of themselves and develop their identity.

But as we get older we must shift. We need to learn to move away from our own world and make room for others with true dignity and respect. This may not prove easy. It requires hard work and lots of practice.

In the coming weeks we will explore some exercises that help us achieve this.
